Our thoughts are with the Fontana family

Patty Herke's father, Rosario "Roy" Fontana, passed away at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Visitation will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral will take place at noon. Our thoughts are with Patty and her family at this time. Rosario "Roy" Fontana
A beloved husband, father and grandfather and a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, he passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 78, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Independence. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Tom Duhe. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by three children, Deborah A. Fontana, Victoria F. Suplee and husband Steve, and Patricia F. Herke and husband David; grandchildren, Mathew and Mark Suplee, Joseph and Sara Jebara, and Claire Herke; sisters, Vito Tomm, Annie Bertucci, Josie Orth, Augustine Taylor and Rosalie Ricks; and brother, Nat Fontana. Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Orlando Fontana; mother, Josephine Fontana; father, Vito Fontana; brother, Jake Fontana; and sister, Carmella Talia.
